In 1994, Shuji Nakamura, Isamu Akasaki, and Hiroshi Amano, three Japanese scientists, unveiled the first high-brightness blue LED. This groundbreaking invention later secured them the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2014. Soon after, the world saw the introduction of the first white LEDs.
